Empowering Communities, Transforming Lives

Welcome to The Gilliam Foundation, where we believe in creating equitable opportunities for all.

About The Gilliam Foundation

The Gilliam Foundation, established in 1998, is a 501c3 nonprofit family-run organization dedicated to providing financial resources to other nonprofits for transformational projects. Our mission is to promote equitable opportunities and outcomes for historically marginalized, disenfranchised, and oppressed communities primarily in the state of Delaware.

Our History

The Gilliam Foundation was founded by James Gilliam Jr. in honor of his parents’ values of community service and servant leadership. Since then, we have provided over $10 million in grants to Delaware-based community organizations, continuing our mission of improving lives and conditions in communities of color.
